Map to Heaven

Who is good? Romans 3:10-12: "As it is written: “ There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one."

Who has sinned? Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..."

The eternal cost of your sin. Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 1:18: "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness."

Nothing you do can save you. Romans 3:20: "Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin."
Romans 3:27: "Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith."

God's love has made the way! Romans 5:8-9: "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him."

You must place your "complete" faith in Jesus Christ. Romans 3:22: "Even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all[a] who believe. For there is no difference..."
Romans 10:9: "That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
Romans 3:28: "Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law."

If you really believe that Jesus Christ alone can save you... Romans 4:21: "And being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform."

...Then pray and ask Him...Romans 10:13: For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
Romans 10:11: For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

MAKE YOUR CHOICE TODAY! JESUS WANTS YOU, HE LOVES YOU, NOTHING YOU HAVE DONE, ARE DOING, OR WILL DO IS TOO BIG OR TOO BAD THAT HE CAN'T FORGIVE YOU AND SAVE YOU! Romans 8:37-39: "Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Jesus Heals

A leper sat beside a cave
In upper Galilee;
His form was wasted and his grief
Was pitiful to see.
No future stretched inviting arms,
His hopes were for release
For quiet in the mossy tomb
And rest of dreamless peace.
Of late, uneasy were his thoughts,
Hope reared it's weary head;
One who could heal the leprosy
Lived South, so rumor said.
Some told of demons exorcised,
Some said He raised the dead,
And changed some water into wine,
And multiplied the bread.
"Soon I'll rise and go to Him
And see what can be seen.
Perhaps He'll see my hopeless state
Perhaps He'll make me clean."
With languor he began to plan
To put away his sorrow;
He'd say, as every morning dawned,
"I'm tired, I'll go tomorrow."
But as the days and weeks and months passed by,
His eyes were growing dim;
He knew that he must haste to Christ
Or death would haste to him.
His journey was a painful one,
And, as it's end drew nigh,
He saw three crosses etched in black
Against a darkening sky.

A very important key

God is the key that opens the door to all that is good in life.

Question of the day!

If you were accused of being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to prove it?

Words to Live By from My Childhood

When I was growing up, I was part of a wonderful group called Pathfinders! I remember when we opened our meetings each Wednesday night, we would repeat the Pathfinder Pledge and Law. These words still offer such meaningful guidelines for our lives today, that I just had to share them here.

By the grace of God, I will be pure, and kind, and true. I will keep the Pathfinder Law. I will be a servant of God and a friend to man.

The Pathfinder Law is for me to:
Keep the morning watch
Do my honest part
Care for my body,
Keep a level eye
Be courteous and obedient
Walk softly in the sanctuary,
Keep a song in my heart,
Go on God's errand.

The Pathfinder Pledge:

By the grace of God
I will be pure
I will be kind
I will be true.
I will keep the Pathfinder Law.
I will be a servant to God
I will be a friend to man.

Salvation

"Salvation is not to be baptized, not to have our names upon the church books, not to preach the truth. But it is a living union with Jesus Christ to be renewed in heart, doing the works of Christ in faith and labor of love in patience, meekness, and hope. Every soul united to Christ will be a living missionary to all around him." Ellen G. White, Evangelism, pp. 319

You Belong to Me

In my mind and in my heart, the meaning of this song goes beyond the love between a man and a woman. It is part of the soundtrack for the movie "Fireproof" which is an incredible movie about love, marriage, romance, and daring to be the best husband and wife you can be. The relationship we have with Jesus is sometimes compared to marriage, because the Bible says that Jesus is like a bridegroom coming for his beloved bride. I love this song because it reminds me that I belong to Jesus! Sometimes when I feel so far away from Him, I like to listen to this song and remember that I ALWAYS belong to Jesus--even if I don't feel like it. He is always waiting for me to come back to Him--His arms are always open for me to run to. Thank You, Jesus! I have always belonged to You!

Are you comfortable or a comforter?

J.H. Jowett ~ "God does not comfort us to make us comfortable, but to make us comforters."

Pure and Faultless Religion

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27

To Whom Will You Run for Help?

"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the fatherless. What will you do on the day of reckoning, when disaster comes from afar? To whom will you run for help? Where will you leave your riches?" ~ Isaiah 10:1-3

Our personal worth comes from within our hearts and how we are daily becoming more like Christ by following Him as disciples. How are we living and using the resources God has given us? What do we value as worthy of our time and resources?

Psalm 147:2-3

"The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers the exiles of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." ~ Psalm 147:2-3

Wounds in our lives today can be healed by Jesus Christ our Lord. Do you have wounds? I know I do, and I need healing right now. Jesus and only Jesus can heal my broken heart, my weakened spirit, and calm my internal strife. Thank God He can gather me back to Himself as He did the exiled Israel...He can build me back up like He will the New Jerusalem. Praise God!

We are brought near to God by the blood of Jesus Christ

Ephesians 2: 11-22 (NKJV)

Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands—that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
Christ Our Cornerstone

Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Circumstances that test us

EGW ~ Review & Herald magazine, May 20, 1884
"God permits us to be placed under circumstances that will test us, to increase our love and to perfect our trust in Him. Through self-denial and suffering with Christ, we grow in grace and in the knowledge of the truth. Trials will come, but they are an evidence that we are children of God. Paul passed through great trials, but he did not despair as though his Father in heaven were dead. He rejoiced in tribulation; for he desired, through participation in the sufferings of Christ, to be conformed to His image. Let this hero of faith speak for himself. He says, 'I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecution, in distresses for Christ sake.'"

Learning lessons from Christ

EGW~ The Ministry of Healing, pp. 156-158

"Naturally we are self-centered and opinionated. But when we learn the lessons that Christ desires to teach us, we become partakers of His nature; henceforth we live His life. The wonderful example of Christ, the matchless tenderness with which He entered into the feelings of others, weeping with those who wept, rejoicing with those who rejoiced, must have a deep influence upon the character of all who follow Him in sincerity. By kindly words and acts they will try to make the path easy for weary feet."

Discovering...Christ in me!

Poem by Bonnie Hain, Lakewood, Colorado

Discovering daily who God really is.

Thanking Him daily He's mine and I'm His.

Discovering daily God's great love for me;

Such mercy, forgiveness, amazingly free.

Discovering daily that God really cares.

Discovering daily He does answer prayers.

Discovering daily what grace really means;

Unmerited favor beyond all my dreams.

Discovering daily God speaking to me

He speaks through the Bible; Once blind, now I see.

Discovering, discovering each day that I live

That all that I need, He freely will give.

Discovering daily Christ working through me,

Accomplishing daily what never could be.

Discovering daily I can't, but He can.

Thanking Him daily for my place in His plan.

Discovering daily how real life can be

When I'm living in Christ, and He's living in me.

Discovering daily a song in my heart

With anticipation for each day to start.
Delighting and basking in love so divine,

Secure in the knowledge I'm His and He's mine.

Besides mere contentment; excitement I see!

A daily adventure: Christ living in me!
